In the Italian capital, not far from the Ancient Palatine Hill – where, facing that Flavian Amphitheater, the Colosseum, Fendi staged its epic show – the Roman brand’s headquarters stand. Echoing the superimposed arcades of the Colosseum, the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana is a soaring architectural example of 20th century modernism, resembling Ancient Rome, but without the classic ostentation. Where better, then, to showcase Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2019 Couture collection – a forward-facing expression of modernity, rooted in the history of the Eternal City.
